FAQs
Quick answers to common questions about our services.
What is infrared thermography?
Infrared thermography is a noncontact inspection method that uses thermal imaging cameras to detect temperature differences on surfaces. These differences can indicate hidden issues such as moisture intrusion, insulation gaps, electrical overheating, or failing components.
What types of problems can infrared inspections detect?
Infrared inspections can identify moisture intrusion, roof leaks, insulation deficiencies, air leakage, overheating electrical components, loose connections, overloaded circuits, and equipment irregularities that are not visible during standard inspections.
Are infrared inspections destructive?
No. Infrared thermography is completely noninvasive and nondestructive. Inspections are performed without opening walls, ceilings, or electrical equipment.
Do inspections disrupt normal operations?
In most cases, inspections are performed under normal operating conditions and do not require system shutdowns. This is especially beneficial for commercial, electrical, and solar inspections.
Why should I choose infrared thermography instead of a visual inspection?
Visual inspections can only identify surface-level issues. Infrared thermography detects hidden problems early, often before damage, safety hazards, or system failures occur. Early detection helps reduce repair costs and downtime.
Are your electrical inspections compliant with industry standards?
Yes. Electrical infrared inspections follow recommended practices outlined in NFPA 70B to improve safety, performance, and equipment longevity.
What will I receive after an inspection?
You will receive a detailed professional report that includes infrared images, conventional photos where applicable, descriptions of identified issues, and prioritized recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
How often should infrared inspections be performed?
The frequency depends on the application. Many clients schedule annual inspections for electrical systems, flat roofs, and solar panels as part of a preventive maintenance program.
